The last few weeks have flown by. I'll give you the highlights:
Chorus concert in Cincinnati last weekend. We WOW'ed 'em. Seventeen members of our chorus went to perform with the Cincy Men's Chorus as part of their 15th Anniversary celebration, and we did a great job. Several other midwest choruses were also in attendance. The first act was the individual choruses singing by themselves, and the second act was a long, seven movement dirge (it was depressing, but sounded nice). From our first individual piece we got a (partial) standing ovation. When people started standing up I almost cried. It was wonderful. I'll post some pics when they become available.
Rob has a few leads on jobs on campus that would mean we could carpool and save money on gas. It would also mean good benefits for him and a bit more pay than he was getting at Pearson. Send good energy.
After a LONG dry spell, I've started getting messages again. I thought Spirit was done with me for a while, but lately they just won't shut up. I'm not complaining! It's nice to be able to help people again. We'll see how long it lasts.
I leave for the SIGUUCS conference in Canada in a couple of weeks for 5 days. I'm really looking forward to some of the sessions I signed up for. I'm also looking forward to the built-in water park that's attached to the hotel. =D
Other than that, things are humming along. I really need to put in some time on the Halloween costume I'm making though. Damn pleats...
Currently reading a book called Across the Nightingale Floor by Lian Hearn. It's very good in a sci-fi way. Super-powered ninjas and stuff. Everything's better with ninjas.
